Christophe Averlan is a French director and playwright who lives and works in Paris.

Since 1997, he has written several plays for theater, including « Happy Birthday Daddy » – a monologue for two characters that was presented in Paris and at the Festival of Avignon – and « Billy Budd » – based on the Herman Melville novel, published by Les éditions de la Librairie Théâtrale. He has also written 90 monologues (in French and English) for men and women, with the same publisher, Les éditions de la Librairie Théâtrale.  In addition, he has written texts for shows directed by choreographer Sophie Landry. Christophe has received funding from the DMDTS and support from the Foundation Beaumarchais and the SACD.

His first collaboration with Jerome Liniger was « Lui/Il » (Him/He), an art book for which he wrote poetic dialogues, inspired by Liniger’s painting that, in turn, inspired new painting with his dialogues.

Between 2007 and 2013, Christophe directed twelve short films talking about love, unexpected first dates, and impossible or sudden break-ups. They were all selected for various film festivals including The Short Film Corner in Cannes.

Also known as a theater coach in Paris, he currently works with actors all around the world. As a director, writer or coach – in everything he does – he tries to find the connection between characters and reality, and how each of us can manage feelings of loneliness and find the meeting point with others.

His commitment to The Meeting Point Project simply reflects the concerns he’s always been working on.
